21 Program
The Under 21 School Program accepts severely
multiply disabled children and adolescents from public schools
when they have not been able to find an appropriate placement
in their schools. These students are tuitioned out by their neighborhood
public school.
Students in North Center's Training Program receive
a combination of educational and daily living skills. Physical,
occupational and speech therapy, family support, recreational
and community experiences, pre-vocational and vocational training
and nursing services are all designed individually to meet each
individual's specific needs. Individuals range from persons who
function in the severe/profound range to persons who function
in the moderate intellectual range. Individuals who are totally
dependent physically, to those who have no physical involvement
at all. Group activities are planned with all individuals in mind.
Each person participates at his or her own level and rate of learning.
